Portland antenna range help?
Hey, is there anyone that is available to check reception at my house, or is there a way I can do it with simple equipment? I'm at risk of being in the shadow of Mt. Tabor.
Have you already used an online tool like http://www.heywhatsthat.com/profiler.html to see if you have line of sight between your location and the tower you are trying to talk to? It is a good place to start just to make sure things are plausible. On Sun, Dec 30, 2018 at 5:22 PM Ted Timmons <ted@perljam.net> wrote:

Ed, Thank you. This tool looks very useful. Is there any way to find the GPS coordinates and the heights of all of the PSDN towers? I have found the GPS coordinates (46.487922, -123.214374) but not the height for BawFaw. I am unable to find either the GPS coordinates or the height for Larch Mountain. Herb

Most of the tower locations are under the sites heading at hamwan.org, but I don't see larch mountain there. Some googling makes it look like it might be at: 45.72028040865225, -122.2943371468138 but I don't know. Hopefully someone else can chime in with the coordinates. As for the heights I also don't know where to get those. However since this is just a quick check for plausibility, I'd would just bracket the results by trying 0 and 100 to see if either is possible. Good luck, --Eddie On Sun, Dec 30, 2018 at 8:13 PM Herb Weiner <herbw@wiskit.com> wrote:

You could look at the map on http://hamwan.org to see what the mathematical models predict as coverage for any given tower.
